When you need tuckpointing & repointing
Soft, sandy mortar
If the mortar crumbles when you poke it, it's no longer holding the brick. Repointing restores the bond and seals the wall.
Open or recessed joints
Joints that have washed out leave channels for water. We fill and tool them so they shed rain again.
Older heritage brick
Old brick around Fort Langley and Langley City was laid with soft lime mortar. Using a hard modern mortar can crack the brick, so we match the right mix.
Our process
- 1
Test the joints
We check how deep the failure goes and what mortar type the wall needs.
- 2
Rake out
Old mortar is cut out cleanly to the right depth without chipping the brick.
- 3
Match and pack
Fresh mortar is mixed to match and packed in tight, then tooled to the original joint profile.
- 4
Clean
Joints are brushed and the wall is cleaned down.
